During March 2026 I hosted two online seminars organised under the auspices of the Public Law and Human Rights Forum (CPLR), a research centre at CityUHK's School of Law. On 25 March the first seminar, with five guest speakers, discussed human rights issues with the New Indonesian Criminal Code, which came into force in January 2026 following many years of debate. During April of this year I had the pleasure of spending two weeks in Shanghai, teaching at the East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). ECUPL has a longstanding collaboration agreement with the School of Law at City University of Hong Kong, whereby ECUPL students visit Hong Kong to further their legal education and CityUHK professors visit ECUPL's Songjiang campus in Shanghai to teach in a different legal environment.
